This isnt useful in any situation other than wanting to gain a lot of life, or occasionally kill someone off, but if you can get enough mana, then you can sometimes win a game outright without even really trying

If you're playing against particularly aggressive decks that tap all the time, Calamity of Cinders will be of limited use

This allows you to search your library for a Creature card with a converted mana cost equal to the number of verse counters and then put it into play

It has no power of its own and it must be supported by tokens to be able to do anything useful

But you get to cast the real one later for free, so the best pattern is to play a cheap spell first and a bigger one later, like a Time Warp or Stock Up
